I started this blog 5 years ago.
At that time there was this talk of Donald Trump running for our highest elected office of President of the United States.
I seriously thought it was a joke. He was a host of a reality show and a terrible businessman. Who thought that was a good idea? He was all talk and supposedly a good salesman. He definitely knew how to sell himself to the American voters.
Then when he won the presidency there were people who were so upset and afraid.
I wrote a brief blip about it saying he reminded me of that loud mouth kid at the back of the classroom. Just speaking to hear his own voice and wanting to be in charge of something. A divided American public decided to give him a chance.
Here we are today 4 years later even more divided than before, a global pandemic health crisis, a failing economy, and a lack of leadership to see us through it.
Just because you are loud, boisterous, bigoted, out of touch, and somewhat of a bully does not garnish followers but in our case though it brought to light those that are like you.
It showed us and the rest of the world the faces of those who are at the root of racism and white privilege.
Unfortunately, it was our families, friends, coworkers, and neighbors. We already knew where the problems lie the rest of the world just needed to catch up and see it too.
Leadership is never about a title, privilege, social status, economic status, or any demographic feature.
Leadership is the ability to bring together different people with different ideas that can see and support your vision, goal, or cause.
A true leader knows how to talk to the people they want to lead, how to encourage their participation, and how to gain insight into what motivates them into action.
Leadership is a group effort and not an individual undertaking. The behavior of our President is more reminiscent of Dictators than of leaders of our past.
As the days wear on and the routine daily life we had previously ceases to exist.
We can only hope the changes we are seeing are for overall greater good not just for a few but for everyone.
Not just for the moment but a lasting affect for generations to come.
Thank you so much for stopping by.
Take care and be safe.
Peace, love, happiness, and good vibes to you.

This is very spot on! I only know a few Trump supporters here and there but it’s kind of hard to see their logic, given how he has no morals. But your definition of leadership gives me hope – someday America will change for the better.
