Still of the night by Suzanne Allen
Setting sun in the west
Golden clouds on fire
The day is put to rest
*
*
Street lights aglow
Traffic going home
Time begins to slow
*
*
Evening begins its routine
Nature sounds in the distance
Everything becoming serene
*
*
Nightlife comes alive
Birds chirping, bugs buzzing
People cycling, walking by
*
*
Darkness drifts in
Sleepiness, winding down
Earth becomes quiet again
*
*
Sound of trains lonesome wail
Drifting off to dreamland
Nighttime prevails
*
*
Tick, tick, of the clock
Dreamers dream
Insomniacs pace and walk
*
*
In the silent of the night
The day drifts away
Tomorrow moves with the sunrise
